2.12.18 Swimmers Set New Records

The 200 Boys' Medley Relay broke a 17-year-old record at the Sectional Swim Meet at the Lima YMCA. The previous record was a 1:53.61, and the boys went 1:50.76. Those swimmers are BJ Carder, Nick Niebel, Jacob Michael, and Garrett Simmons. Gavin Peare broke his own 500 Freestyle record with a time of 5:47.26, and Nick Niebel broke his own 100 breaststroke record with a time of 1:09.69. The following students will advance to the District Swim Meet at BG on Feb. 16. 

1.19.18 Parent/Teacher Conferences

Parent Teacher Conferences in the HIGH SCHOOL are scheduled for Wed., Feb. 7th from 4:00-8:00 pm. Please call the office to schedule appointments with your student's teachers. 419-331-4115. Our teachers look forward to meeting with you to discuss your child's daily assignments and performance and to hear any of your thoughts or concerns.

1.29.18 Chipotle Fundraiser

Chipotle will donate 50% of sales to the ElidaTheater Dept. on Tues., Feb. 13th from 4:00-8:00 pm. Plan to eat your dinner at Chipotle to help support the theater spring musical production of "Mary Poppins." Just say "I'm here to support Elida Theater" or bring this flyer. THANK YOU! 

1.29.18 Student participates in Pass, Dribble & Shoot Contest

1.17.18 Cheerleading Camp Re-Scheduled

The cheer camp that was scheduled for Sat., January 13th has been rescheduled.  The camp will now be Saturday, January 27th from 9am-1pm in the Fieldhouse and they will perform during the halftime of the JV game that evening.

1.16.18 Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony

Three Elida Graduates will be recognized and inducted into the Elida Athletic Hall of Fame this Sat., Jan. 20th. 1962 graduate Mr. Del Shinn, 1976 graduate Mr. Jeff Brown and 1995 graduate Ms. Mianda Watts will be honored. Tickets are available until Wednesday for $20. 1.10.2018 Basketball Tickets

Tickets will be on sale during lunch on Thursday for the Friday away game with Defiance and the Saturday home game with Piqua. Tickets will be sold at the High School and The First Federal Bank. Tickets are $6.00 for Adults and $4.00 for Students. All tickets are $6.00 at the door.

Tickets will be on sale Friday during lunch at all building sites for the home game with Celina. Tickets are also on sale all week during normal operating hours at the First Federal Bank. Tickets are $6.00 for Adults and $4.00 for Students. All tickets at the door are $6.00.


Elida High School cheerleaders are hosting a Cheerleading Camp for girls Pre-K-6th grade. On Sat., Jan. 13th from 9:00-1:00 pm in the High School Main Gym. The girls will learn a chant and a dance and perform at a Varsity Basketball Game halftime.  Cost is just $40. Registration Form.

High School Teacher Receives Recognition as District 1 Teacher of the Year

We are starting this school year with very special recognition for our high school Computer Science Teacher, Mr. Mark Suter. Mark has been named the District 1 Teacher of the Year by the Ohio State Board of Education. (District 1 encompasses 22 counties in Northwest Ohio.) He received a commendation from the State of Ohio. We also welcomed Representative Bob Cupp who attended our staff meeting today to personally congratulate Mark on this accomplishment. Mark is now one of just five teachers to be considered for Ohio's Teacher of the Year. We are proud to have Mark Suter on our staff, leading and teaching our students. He helps to make Elida Schools great...Educating for Tomorrow!

1.24.18 School Board Votes For Bond & Levy on May Ballot

 Our Elida School Board decided Tuesday evening to make improvements for our elementary staff & students: they approved a levy and bond issue for the May ballot for the construction of a new elementary building. This is an opportunity to use state funds to help with costs of construction, an opportunity to make modern upgrades and improvements to our aging elementary bldg. "Jolly Holiday with Mary" CANCELLED

1.14.2018 Alumnus to Play in Collegiate Bowl

Elida graduate and Ohio University Linebacker Quentin Poling has been chosen to play in the 2018 Collegiate Bowl on January 20 in Rose Bowl Stadium.The Collegiate Bowl gives prospective players the best opportunity to showcase their talents to potential employers and fans. Nearly 200 scouts, player personnel staff, general managers and head coaches from all 32 NFL teams are expected be in attendance. More in this article from the Ohio University website. 1.24.18 Senior Featured in Scholastic Arts Spotlight

Elementary Building Project PUBLIC MEETING

Consolidated Continuous Improvement Plan

The Elida Local School District receives funds through the Ohio Department of Education via the Consolidated Continuous Improvement Plan (CCIP). Monies received through IDEA-B are used to provide Special Education Services for students with identified disabilities. Title I funds are used to provide reading and early literacy interventions to qualified students. Title IIA funds are used for targeted professional development, which must align with the goals outlined in the CCIP.Public input regarding the use of these funds for the upcoming school year is welcome. Public input can be given Wednesday morning, June 21st, from 8:00am-8:30am in the central office located at 4380 Sunnydale Ave., Elida , Ohio 45807.

1.11.2018 Military Appreciation Night

A Military Appreciation Night will be held at the next Boys varsity home game against Wapakoneta on Fri., Jan. 19th in the Fieldhouse. All active military or veterans are welcome to bring their military ID and receive FREE ADMISSION.  In addition, with ID, veterans will receive a coupon for one free hotdog, drink and popcorn courtesy of The Elida Athletic Boosters. The Winter Informal, previously known as Sadies, will take place this Friday, Jan. 26 after the boys' basketball game (830-11pm) in the Commons. The dance is open to all Elida High School students. Tickets are $5.....

2.8.18 Wellness Committee Meeting

The Wellness Committee will be scheduling a meeting in early April. Any parents/community members interested in having input on the school's Wellness Policy (#8510) should contact Superintendent Joel Mengerink at jmengerink@elida.k12.oh.us or call the Central Office at 419-331-4155 to join the committee. 

1.15.2018 RE-SCHEDULED: Pass, Dribble & Shoot Contest

The Shawnee Optimist Club Pass, Dribble & Shoot Contest is re-scheduled for Sun., Jan. 28th at the Shawnee High School Gym at 1:30 pm.Doors Open at 12:45. Registration at 1:00 PM and 30 minutes of practice time. For boys & girls age 8-13. Shawnee Boys and Girls Basketball Teams will be assisting. Easy, FREE registration at the door! All participants receive a free t-shirt. 


1.11.2018 Student Sets New Swim Record

Senior Gavin Peare broke the 500 Freestyle record at Wednesday's meet against Bath and Lima Senior with a time of 5:49.53! CONGRATULATIONS, Gavin! 2.1.18 Reflector Yearbook

The 2018 edition of the Reflector Yearbook is now on sale in Mrs. Glenn's room for $65.00.  Checks should be made to Elida High School with "Reflector" in the memo. Down-payments of $25 will reserve a book, although all books must be paid in full by May 23rd.  Please bring orders in an envelope marked with the student's name and the name of their Bulldog teacher.

Scholarship Information

It's an important time for our Seniors who are considering attending college after high school. We have information about various scholarships available under the Scholarships link on the high school webpage. 


   Congratulations to the District Champions, the Elida Boys Basketball Team. On to Regional Semi-Final! Elida will play at The University of Toledo at Savage Arena this  Thursday, March 16th at 8:00 pm. Tickets are on sale now in the Athletic Office. They will be on sale Monday-Wednesday from 7:30 am-4:00 pm and on Wednesday night from 6-7:30 pm. On Thursday, tickets will be sold from 7:30 am-1:00 pm.  Thursday night will not be a split session.  All pre-sale tickets are $7 and all tickets at the door are $8.
