Vacancy: New School Board Member

New Elida School Board Member needed due to resignation of Mrs. Christine Ulrich. The Elida Local Schools would like to thank Mrs. Ulrich for her more than 3 ½ years of service to the district.  She has resigned effective immediately.  Applications for the vacant position, whose term expires on December 31, 2017, are available by clicking here or in the Elida Local Schools Central Office.  Applications must be returned to Joel Mengerink, Superintendent by Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at 3 pm

Homecoming Parade

The Homecoming Parade is Sunday, October 1st at 4pm. The official parade route is:

  • Exit Elida Fieldhouse onto E. North St.
  • Left onto Greenlawn
  • Left onto E. Main St.
  • Left onto Baxter St.
  • Left onto E. North St.
  • End at Elida Fieldhouse

Student Council selling Chicken BBQ Tickets

The High School Student Council students are selling tickets for a chicken BBQ Dinner. The dinner is Sunday, Oct. 1st (same day as Homecoming Parade) Just $8 each. The dinners include 1/2 bbq chicken, baked potato, green beans, and dinner roll. From 12:00-2:00 pm. Pick-up only at the High School Activities Circle. Warrior Mode Volleyball Game

This Thursday, Sept. 21st, we are hosting a Warrior Mode Volleyball game against Wapak. The game starts at 5:30. There will be a bake sale, a raffle, 50/50, silent auction and a great game. Aarn Nagy was a 1991 gradute of Elida and lost his battle with cancer in August.  All proceeds will go to Aaron Nagy's daughter Jensen to help with expenses. 

 

Flower Loft Card-Fundraiser Flowers

The Class of 2019 Flower Loft Card fundraiser is underway! The card is $30 and you receive a beautiful bouquet of flowers every month, FOR A YEAR! The cards are sold in the HS Athletic and Academic offices from 7:30-3:30 pm weekdays until Sept. 20th. These bouquets make wonderful birthday presents, Mother’s Day, Valentines Day, Sweetest Day, or better yet, keep some for yourself...just because! High School Teacher Receives Recognition as District 1 Teacher of the Year

We are starting this school year with very special recognition for our high school Computer Science Teacher, Mr. Mark Suter. Mark has been named the District 1 Teacher of the Year by the Ohio State Board of Education. (District 1 encompasses 22 counties in Northwest Ohio.) He received a commendation from the State of Ohio. We also welcomed Representative Bob Cupp who attended our staff meeting today to personally congratulate Mark on this accomplishment. Mark is now one of just five teachers to be considered for Ohio's Teacher of the Year. We are proud to have Mark Suter on our staff, leading and teaching our students. He helps to make Elida Schools great...Educating for Tomorrow!

Diamond Dogs Paver Project

Consolidated Continuous Improvement Plan

The Elida Local School District receives funds through the Ohio Department of Education via the Consolidated Continuous Improvement Plan (CCIP). Monies received through IDEA-B are used to provide Special Education Services for students with identified disabilities. Title I funds are used to provide reading and early literacy interventions to qualified students. Title IIA funds are used for targeted professional development, which must align with the goals outlined in the CCIP.Public input regarding the use of these funds for the upcoming school year is welcome. Public input can be given Wednesday morning, June 21st, from 8:00am-8:30am in the central office located at 4380 Sunnydale Ave., Elida , Ohio 45807.

DISTRICT CHAMPIONS!

   Congratulations to the District Champions, the Elida Boys Basketball Team. On to Regional Semi-Final! Elida will play at The University of Toledo at Savage Arena this  Thursday, March 16th at 8:00 pm. Tickets are on sale now in the Athletic Office. They will be on sale Monday-Wednesday from 7:30 am-4:00 pm and on Wednesday night from 6-7:30 pm. On Thursday, tickets will be sold from 7:30 am-1:00 pm.  Thursday night will not be a split session.  All pre-sale tickets are $7 and all tickets at the door are $8.

Drop-off and Pick-up Changes

Elida Middle School has been looking at how to reduce the congestion on Sunnydale Rd. and improve safety for students, staff, and community. A new traffic pattern plan has been developed to reduce some of the road congestion.
