Drip-off and Pick-up Changes

Elida Middle School has been looking at how to reduce the congestion on Sunnydale Rd. and improve safety for students, staff, and community. A new traffic pattern plan has been developed to reduce some of the road congestion.

There will be two specific areas for student pickup and drop off.  Students will need to be dropped off or picked up at the curb in the front of the building or along the curb in the southwest portion of the west parking lot.  All vehicles coming from the Pioneer Rd entrance must exit onto Sunnydale Rd.  Cars will not be permitted to make u-turns and will not be allowed to park behind busses.

Cars entering the east drive to loop in front of the school must load and unload in front of the building at the curb and exit onto Sunnydale or proceed straight and exit onto Pioneer Rd.  Vehicles will not be allowed to exit behind busses.  The northwest entrance off of Pioneer Rd. in the west parking lot will only be used by busses and staff.

Cars that enter the east entrance off of Sunnydale Rd. may be directed into the new overflow lane through the east lot that  has been provide.  An officer will direct traffic into the overflow lane as the curb fills with cars in the morning.  Please use the overflow in the afternoon as well.  Students are to load or unload only at the curbs in front of the  building or  the southwest portion of the west lot.  Please maintain your place in line after you load or unload until you are able to exit the parking lots.  Please do not pass stationary vehicles unless directed to do so by staff.  Do not load or unload along Sunnydale Rd. or Pioneer Rd.

Please advise any high school students that may drop off a sibling at the middle school of these changes so that they  may adjust the time they leave for school.

For more information, please go to the district website.

We want to thank you for your cooperation and willingness to help keep the students safe.
