Barnes and Noble Summer Reading Progam

barens and noble  Here's a neat opportunity for young students (Grades 1-6) to earn a free book, courtesy of Barnes and Noble, through their summer reading program. Check out the attached flyers for more info. and the reading log. Summer Break

 We want to wish all of our students, staff and parents a wonderful summer break. School resumes on Tuesday, August 29th. Keep an eye on the website and social media for updates, school supply lists, etc. Attached is the 2017-18 School Year Calendar

Summer Library Activities

There are some fun activities planned in the Elementary and Middle School this summer. Crafts, Legos, Chess, Ozobots, learn computer coding, PRIZES, other activities and READING of course! Chicken BBQ to Support Elida Band Boosters

Elida student band members are selling tickets for a summer Harlan Chicken BBQ! The BBQ is Wednesday, July 19th from 4:30-7:00pm in the High School Commons. Mark your calendar now!  Tickets are just $8 and funds help support the band throughout the year. Eat in or carry-out. You can also contact Diane Bloom at dbloom@elida.k12.oh.us or Judy Long at jmlgingerbread@aol.com to get tickets. Thanks for your support! 

Youth Cheerleading Camp

Elida High School cheerleaders are hosting a cheerleading camp this summer. On July 22nd, from 9:00 am -1:00 pm in the High School Main Gym. Cost is $40. Anyone pre-school -6th grade. Participants receive a t-shirt, and get in free to the Elida Competition the following week on July 29th and perform the chant and dance they will learn. 

Return the attached FLYER and payment to the High School Office by July 8th. 

Cheerleading Camp

Attention 5th & 6th grade girls: The Elida high school cheerleaders are hosting a youth cheer camp this summer.  It will be at the High School on July 22nd from 9-1:00 pm.  Please stop in the middle school office to pick up a flyer.


Drop-off and Pick-up Changes

Elida Middle School has been looking at how to reduce the congestion on Sunnydale Rd. and improve safety for students, staff, and community. A new traffic pattern plan has been developed to reduce some of the road congestion.  

PBIS Recognition PBIS Award

Elida Middle School Social Worker Charissa Langstaff, and Librarian Trisha Smith, represented Elida Middle School staff and students in receiving a Bronze Medal Award for PBIS implementation this school year.  The bronze medal is the highest award the building was eligible for as a first year participant.  The award was presented by the Ohio State Support Team at their annual PBIS Showcase.  PBIS stands for Positive Behavior Interventions and Support and includes building initiatives such as CIA slips, Positive Referral Forms, the building behavioral matrix, and Team Day activities.  BE A BULLDOG!

8th grade Graduation

There was another celebration at school today as our Elida 8th grade students, The Class of 2021, held their graduation ceremony. Parents and family attended the event to recognize their student's accomplishments. The 8th grade band and choir performed, the Class Officers spoke, and the guest speaker was Mr. Andy Lynch from WOSN-WTLW who reminded the students that "Your Life Matters." Congratulations to theses students who move on to the high school!  graduategraduate
