Student Wins Big in Community Calendar Contest ava

Hometown Stations and Attorneys Dyer, Garofalo, Mann and Schultz recently sponsored a Calendar Art Contest with area schools.Over 30 Elida middle students participated and 6th grade student Ava Frueh was the winner from Elida. She was presented with her award of $250 and the art department received $1,000! Thanks to Mrs. Kelsey Schumaker, our MS Art teacher, for coordinating this opportunity!  Other Elida students received Honorable Mentions and $50 for their artwork: Amara Holderman (5th) and Alayna Kruse (6th.)

Spring for the STARS Vendor Application

The 3rd Annual Spring for the STARS Vendor & Craft Fair is March 7, 2020. This event has grown every year and there are many terrific vendors with great products! More details in this FLYER.  Vendor deadline to reserve space is Feb. 7, 2020. VENDOR APPLICATION & CONTRACT

Mobile Dentist Visits smile

The Mobile Dentist is coming back to the elementary and middle school.  As part of the Ohio Dental Outreach, a state licensed dentist will complete full dental assessment and care. Forms went home with the students and are due by Jan. 17th.  If you have questions, contact the school nursing dept. Schedule: Middle School: Tues., February 18th, Elementary: Wed. & Thurs., February 19th & 20th 

Kindergarten Registration for 2020-21

Registration for new, incoming kindergarten students begins on Monday, January 13, 2020. The registration packet is linked HERE.  Kindergarten screening will be Thursday, May 21st and Friday May, 22nd at Elida Immanuel Church from 8:00-3:00. Any questions call the elementary office 419-331-7901

New Head Football Coach: Kyle Harmon kyleh

The Elida Athletic Department is excited to announce the hiring of a new Head Football Coach. Mr. Kyle Harmon was officially hired at Thursday's Board of Education meeting. Harmon is a proud Elida Bulldog and graduated from Elida in 2003! He spent the past two seasons as the Pass/Outside run game coordinator at Wapak High School. Prior to that he was the offensive coordinator/Quarterbacks coach at Lima Senior High School. Kyle was an assistant coach at Elida from 2005 through 2015 including a 2-0 stint as interim head coach during the 2015 season. Kyle presently teaches Health and Physical Education at Elida High School. Kyle and his wife Maggie reside in Elida with their son Jack.

Donor Spotlight: Mr. Delbert P. Shinn del

Mr. Delbert P. Shinn is a 1962 graduate of Elida High School and he graduated from Ohio Northern with a degree in Education, because he was inspired by his teachers at Elida. "The real people who helped mold my life were the teachers and coaches at Elida."  Because of his philosophy of "paying it forward" and as an enthusiastic supporter of young people, he established the Shinn Family Memorial Scholarship 18 years ago as a tribute to his family members: Kenneth, Bernice, Dennis & Del.

Student Tutoring Available

Tutoring is available to ALL Elida High School students every Thursday after school, in the MC.  Tutoring begins at 2:40, and ends at 4:00.  National Honor Society members and teachers are present to help you with homework, test preparation, even organization of your class materials.  You don't need to sign up; just show up!


Band Boosters Reverse Raffle

Meet Evelyn Sarber, Class of 1937 Graduate evelyn

Evelyn (Miller) Sarber just turned 100 years old on October 16th! She graduated 5th in the Elida Class of 1937 and is still living independently and driving herself to volunteer each week at Mercy Health. We had the privilige to talk with her about her days at Elida, from the one room school house to playing basketball, her surprising connection to John Dillinger, and we find out why she says girls drive better than boys!
