Important Deadline Information:

Many of these scholarships may require counselor signatures, letters of recommendation from counselors/teachers, information from us on class rank, GPA, etc.  Just as we require for transcript requests to colleges, we teachers/counselors ask you to give us two weeks to to be able to complete this information for your scholarship application(s), as this is an extremely busy time of the school year. 

Please have your completed scholarship application(s) to us TWO WEEKS prior to the listed deadlines for the scholarship.  If the scholarships are one that you need to mail/email/fax the completed application by a particular date, you will need to take that into consideration when needing information, letters of recommendation, transcripts, etc. from us.


LOCAL SCHOLARSHIPS TO BE PRESENTED AT SENIOR HONORS NIGHT IN APRIL:   (All of these local scholarships have a deadline of March 8th turned in to the academic office with ALL parts completed by the end of the school day)


Elida Education Association Scholarship:  $1,000; graduating senior entering the field of education with plans to become a teacher; activities, service, essay, teacher evaluation; application available heredeadline March 8th

Elida Education Association Legacy Scholarship:  $1,000; graduating senior child of an active Elida Education Association member; activities, service, essay, teacher evaluation; application available heredeadline March 8th

Drew Dulebohn Memorial Scholarship:   $500; two scholarships available; applicant has had to be involved in an extra-curricular activity; plans to attend a two or four-year college or university; 3.0 cumulative GPA; essay; application available here ; deadline March 8th

Jakob Sexton Memorial Scholarship:  $500; two scholarships available; plans to attend a two or four-year college or university; essay; application available here deadline March 8th

Travis R. Miller Memorial Scholarship:   $500; applicant plans to pursue some sort of vocational study such as Machinist Journeyman, Tool & Die, High Performance Engine, or an Agriculture-related field; student plans to attend a two or four-year college/university; cumulative GPA between 2.5 and 3.75; strong work ethic; strong history of employment; activities, service; application available here ; deadline March 8th

Paul Sluss Memorial Scholarship:  (former Elida History teacher and Yearbook Advisor)  $1,000; a cumulative GPA that ensures success in college; need; interest in English and/or History will be given preference; application available here ; deadline March 8th

Pat Dally Memorial Scholarship:  (former Elida teacher who loved the underdog!)  $500; female who has participated in at least one year of a sport in high school (is not required to play college sports); activities, volunteerism, self-motivated, hard-working, responsible, community-minded, work-oriented; application available here ; deadline March 8th

Class of 1963 Scholarship:  $500; two scholarships available; merit, need, activities, service; application available heredeadline March 8th

Elida Athletic Boosters Scholarship:   $1,000 each to one male and one female; has to have lettered in at least two different varsity sports at Elida; activities, honors, accomplishments, community service; application available  here deadline March 8th

Elida Education Foundation Scholarship:   typically $500-700; typically 10 scholarships available each year; based on academic achievement (awards, honors, leadership, sport/activities), educational attitude, career goals, volunteerism, top 25% of graduating class, two letters of recommendation required; application available heredeadline March 8th

Scott Graham Harmon Memorial Scholarship: $500; senior athlete who has earned a varsity letter in at least two different sports and must have participated in sports as a senior; 3.0 cumulative GPA; must plan to attend four-year college or university; two scholarships available (one male and one female); application available here ; deadline March 8th

Alvie & Shirley Cockerell Memorial Scholarship:  $500; 2.0 cumulative GPA or higher; self-motivated, honest, hard-working, responsible, community-minded, work-oriented; application available here deadline March 8th

Elida Breakfast Club Scholarship:  $500; typically two scholarships available; health-related career field preferred; application available here; deadline March 8th

Durell Blank Memorial Scholarship:  $1,000; established in memory of Elida alumnus Durell Blank who had Cystic Fibrosis; winner will be an Elida High School graduating senior who has faced a unique challenge and how he/she has handled life through that unique challenge, need, merit; application available here deadline March 8th

Shinn Family Memorial Scholarship:  $250; four scholarships available; merit, activities, need; application available here deadline March 8th


Other Area Scholarships: 

Allen County Bar Association Scholarship:  Two $1,000 scholarships available; must be a senior planning to attend an institution of higher education in the fall; scholarship awarded to the authors of the best two essays submitted; information available  here ; deadline is April 26, 2021

Medical Mutual Scholarship:  140 scholarships available at $1,000 each with a chance at $10,000.  This application is available to any senior student at Elida because Medical Mutual is out school's health insurance provider. Please visit  to access the online application and submit all required documents. The deadline for applications is April 1, 2021, at 5:00 p.m.

Ohio Gas Association Scholarship:  For seniors who plan to pursue a career in the natural gas industry or related energy field. 3.0 GPA; $1000 renewable for up to 3 years; deadline March 31. More information and application are available  here 

American Association of University Women (AAUW) Scholarship: Ten $1,000 scholarships available; female, plan to enroll or be enrolled in an accredited college or university for Fall 2021, graduate of an Allen County high school; merit, service, activities, goals; applications available here.  Deadline March 12, 2021.

Van Wert Medical and Health Care Scholarship: five renewable scholarships available at $1,000/yr; applicant must be a resident or graduate of a school in Allen, Mercer, Paulding, Putnam, or Van Wert counties; 3.0 GPA; for those pursuing a degree in human healthcare at a two or four-year degree at an accredited post-secondary institution; application can be found here

Ohio Association of Public School Employees (OAPSE):  for a student enrolling into an accredited 2 or 4 year university, college, technical, or business school in any field of study who has a parent who is a member of the Ohio Association of Public School Employees, AFSCME Local 4, AFL-CIO (OAPSE/AFSCME) union; $2,500; further information and application available here; postmarked deadline of March 1, 2021

Lima Junior Service League Scholarship:  scholarship open to seniors who plan to pursue the field of education in college or an education-related field; $1,000; deadline is February 26, 2001; please see here for information and the application.

Wright-Patterson Officers' Spouses' Club (WPOSC) Scholarships for Military Dependents: This group is offering scholarships to military dependent children who will be enrolled full time at accredited universities or technical schools next year.  Electronic submission deadline is February 28, 2021. Please see  here for application and further information.  We had an EHS student win a $1,000 scholarship last year!

Ohio Oil & Gas Energy Education Program/Foundation Scholarship:  $1,000; 2.5 GPA; career goal in the crude oil or natural gas industry to attend college, technical, or trade school in Ohio, application and further information available at /teacher-students/scholarships  with a deadline of March 1, 2021.

Charles River (Spencerville) Biomedical Research College Scholarship:  $1,000 non-renewable; student must have an interest in research and pursue a degree in biological or chemical sciences; deadline March 1, 2021. The application and further information can be accessed by clicking  here .

Ron Richards Music Scholarship: Lima Kiwanis Club is offering a $1,000 renewable scholarship to a senior in Allen County who plans to major in music at a college or university of their choice. 3.0 GPA required. Deadline for application submission is February 17, 2021.  Please find the scholarship information and application materials HERE.

WTLW TV Broadcast Television Scholarship $1000  scholarship; open to any high school senior in WTLW viewing area is eligible that plans to attend a post-secondary educational institution and is interested in pursuing a career in broadcast television and/or related career in broadcast journalism, public relations, sales marketing, graphics design, web design, photo journalism, or other forms of mass media; application must be received by end of day, Tuesday, February 9.   Please note that a school official must certify the application. Midwest Electric Scholarships:  parents must be Midwest Electric customers; completed applications must be in their office no later than January 15, 2021.  Locally $11,000 in scholarships available.

1) General Scholarship: $1000-2,000; 3.5 or high cumulative GPA, achievement, activities, essay; Midwest Electric winner has chance at winning an additional $3,800 scholarship in state competition 

2) Touchstone Energy Achievement Scholarship: $2,000; 2.75 cumulative GPA, essay, accountability, integrity, drive/dedication to earning college education, obstacles/challenges faced.

Hauss-Helms Foundation Scholarship:  based on need; cumulative HS GPA of 3.0 at mid-senior year, ACT cumulative score of 16 or higher; Application deadline is 3/15/2021; please see here for rules and more information. A pplication available  at

2021 Bob Smith Youth Leaders of Bowling Scholarship:  Deadline is March 1, 2021; community service, high school activities, volunteer work hours, honors, leadership, local bowling scene involvement; applications available here.

2021 ACME Baseball Scholarship:  Student MUST have played at least one year of Varsity ACME baseball; 2.5 or higher cum GPA, activities, academic honors, $500 scholarship, winners are not required to go play college baseball; application available here; deadline is February 1, 2021

Farm Credit Mid-America Scholarship:  $1,500 scholarship, available to children/grandchildren of Farm-Credit Mid-America customers.  Award based on academic record, leadership qualities, and community involvement.  Deadline is December 31, 2020.  You can access the online application at

Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship:  application and more information located at; deadline is Feb. 1, 2021; a graduating 2021 senior minority student, to attend an accredited 4-year college; leadership potential, community service, financial need

Ohio Association of Public School Employees (OAPSE):  for a student who has a parent who is an OAPSE union member who is enrolling at accredited 2 or 4 year accredited university, college, technical, or business school for any field of study, $2,500, activities/employment, leadership, academics, further information and application found at; application postmark or email due date of March 1, 2021.

Elks Exalted Ruler Award (Local): Any student (male or female) who plans to pursue an eligible educational program at a career or technical institution or a college or university and is a child or granchild of a current Elks #54 member.  Applications will be available at the Lima Lodge office September 15th and must be submitted by April 1st.

C.R. Meyers Scholarship:  Sponsored by the Ohio Association of Litter Prevention and Recycling Professionals, a statewide organization which promotes recycling and litter prevention.  Must be enrolled or plan to enroll in and accredited Ohio college university, or technical school with a major related to the Environmental Sciences or Environmental Education and must reside in Ohio; $1,000; application and further information available at  Deadline is April 15th.

Mercy Health  St. Rita's Medical Center Scholarship:  This is a scholarship opportunity for graduating seniors in 2021 who are planning a career in the medical field; Ten (10) scholarship at $1,500 are available; application and essay information can be found HERE .  Submission deadline is February 19, 2021.

Coca-Cola Scholarship $20,000 deadline to apply October 31,2020; visit for more information and to apply.

Elks Most-Valuable Student Award $1,000-$12,500 per year; deadline to apply Nov. 15, 2020; based on merit, leadership, financial need; visit for more information and to apply.
