Elida Receives PBIS District Award for 2020-21

Elida Local Schools have been recognized as a recipient of the Ohio PBIS District Award for 2020- 2021. Elida is recognized by the Ohio Dept. of Education for our efforts to maintain a positive school culture and climate that benefits the entire Elida school community. This accomplishment will be recognized during the Annual Ohio PBIS Showcase for 2021 virtual event on December 9, 2021.

Veterans Day Recognition Ceremony

On Thursday, Nov 11, Elida Middle School will host a Veterans Day Recognition Ceremony. We would like to invite any relative of any middle school student who served or is currently serving in the Armed Forces to attend. It will be held in the middle school gymnasium from 8am -9am, and the reception following in the commons from 9am-10am, and ask that each guest be accompanied by a student. We are also asking that you email a picture of the service person attending. We would prefer a picture of them in their military attire. We will be using these pictures as part of a video montage to honor those in attendance. Please email those pictures to Mr. Reese, no later than Monday, November 1st

Winter Sports Registration/Physicals

Any 7th-12th grade student interested in playing a winter sport needs to have a current physical on file in the Athletic Office.  Online registration for winter sports is open.  Every athlete needs to be fully registered on 8to18 for winter sports.  If your student was registered for a fall sport, login to your account and complete registration for winter.  If you do not have an account, follow the online instructions to complete registration. INSTRUCTIONS TO REGISTER.

Scholastic Book Fair

The Book Fair is coming November 8-12! Watch for more information on all the new books and materials available.

The Middle School Thor Store

The Thor Store contains extra clothing items for students (shoes, coats, etc.) when they need them and extra school supplies, too. The Store also has hygiene supplies available to students. We welcome any donations of hygiene products: shampoo/conditioner, body wash, deodorants, and toothbrushes/toothpaste.  Donations can be dropped off to the middle school office. The Thor Store is where students cash in “Paw Signatures” they've earned from staff for demonstrating good Bulldog behavior (being respectful, responsible and ready). Students exchange signatures for rewards like candy, chips, water bottles, lanyards, journals, or sports equipment (soccer balls, basketballs, etc.) coupons to McDonald’s, or Applebee’s, or even a Friday lunch with Mrs. Knippen and a classmate where they can play cards or a board game. Students can save their signatures for larger prizes like the popular “Pie in the Face” of a teacher at the end of the school year.
