Affordable Connectivity Program

The Affordable Connectivity Program through the F.C.C. can help provide affordable broadband services to eligible families.  Eligibility is being extended to those households with an income that is at or below 200% Federal Poverty Guideline. The monthly benefit is now $30 month. High School Yearbook Sale

Just a reminder that the 2022 Reflector:  Return to Sender ~ Contents: Students *Handle with Care*  is currently on sale for $65 through March 15th. You can buy online with a credit card at yearbookforever.com OR bring check or cash to either office or room #133 (Mrs. Glenn) in an envelope clearly marked with your name. Checks should be made out to Elida High School with Reflector in the memo line. Students can place a down-payment of $25 to reserve a yearbook with Mrs. Glenn (not available by credit card), although the book must be paid in full before the end of the year. NO DEPOSITS WILL BE REFUNDED IF YOU CHOOSE TO CANCEL YOUR RESERVATION.

Dyslexia Guidebook Public Input

The Ohio Department of Education and the Ohio Dyslexia Committee have released a draft copy of the Dyslexia Guidebook. A public comment period is in effect until Jan. 19. Click here to read the draft guidebook, and click here for the public input questionnaire.

Westwood Tennis Center is hosting a free tennis clinic every weekend in January for middle school students. More information in this flyer.

Covid-19 Exposure Information through Schoology

Parents/Guardians: Information regarding student Covid-19 exposure in classrooms will be communicated to parents/guardians through their Schoology Account. Schoology is the primary communication tool in the district. If your child has been exposed, you will receive an e-mail through Schoology from the Elida Nursing Department. If you do not have a Schoology account set-up yet, please read the instructions at the link HERE.

Talking to Youth about Substance Use

The Mental Health & Recovery Services Board offers good information for parents and teachers with tips on talking with our children regarding substance use. Talking with kids is the best way to prevent drug use and addiction. Get ideas on how to start the discussion in this letter

Rhodesology STEMM Workshop

Mobile Dentist Coming to Elementary in February

The Smile Program mobile dentist is coming to Elida Elementary February 15-17, 2022.  This program allows Elida students the opportunity to be seen by a dentist during the school day.  A mini dental clinic is setup at Elida for students to receive a complete oral exam, cleaning, fluoride, sealants, oral health education with licensed dentists and hygienists. If this is something that you would want your child to participate in, please call the school 419-338-6803 and speak to the nursing dept. to receive a permission slip. (No online sign-up.)

Senior Parents: Ads in Reflector Yearbook

Senior Parents: If you are interested in placing a Senior Recognition Ad in the Reflector Yearbook for your graduate, please contact Katherine Glenn via Schoology or at reflector.elida@gmail.com. Further information and examples of this year's design will be coming soon, but you can already reserve your space for a congratulatory message or celebration of their accomplishments. Log on to yearbookforever.com to purchase an ad by credit card, or contact Mrs. Glenn for further details. You don't have to have your pictures/message ready at time of purchase -- we can create the ad at your convenience, although payment must be made when reserving your space. All ads must be purchased by April 15, 2022. Also, don't forget to start looking for a baby picture and current image of your senior for the senior slide show at graduation!"
