Kindergarten Registration 2026-27

Due to a recent change in Ohio law, all school districts are now required to use a uniform age-eligibility cutoff for kindergarten enrollment which states students must be five (5) years old on or before the first day of school in the school district they are enrolling in. For Elida Local Schools that date this year is August 31, 2026. 

To be eligible for kindergarten for the 2026–2027 school year, your child must be five (5) years old on or before August 31, 2026, the first day of the 2026-2027 school year. This new law replaces the previous August 1 cutoff date. 

To register your child for Elida kindergarten: : 

• Create your parent account in FinalForms: Final Forms link 

• Upload the required documents into your FinalForms parent account

1. child’s birth certificate (which includes the mother’s maiden name)

2. immunization information

3. three documents providing proof of residence in the Elida Local School District.

   • If you are a non-resident and are wanting to apply for open enrollment, you will need to go to our website and download the open enrollment application. 

4. custody papers (if applicable, including all pages of the document and the judge or magistrate’s signature)

Once all required documents are submitted and received by the elementary, you will receive a call to schedule a Screening Date which is either June 1 or June 2, 2026.

You will receive a call to arrange a date and time for your student once the above required items are submitted.
