Elida Receives Top Ratings on Key Standards. See further details on the district and building ratings below. 

On September 14, the Ohio Department of Education released the 2023 Ohio School Report Cards. New this year, schools and districts received overall ratings of 1-5 stars, in half-star increments.

Five components were rated: Achievement, Progress, Gap Closing, Early Literacy and Graduation.

  • Overall, Elida Local Schools EXCEEDED STATE STANDARDS, receiving an overall rating of 4 stars.
  • All Elida Schools received 4 stars each of the categories "EXCEEDING STATE STANDARDS"
  • The Middle School received the highest rating possible-5 stars -"SIGNIFICANTLY EXCEEDING STATE STANDARDS" on progress on 8 different state tests. "Significant evidence that the district exceeded student growth expectations by a larger magnitude!"
  • The Middle School also received a 5 star rating "SIGNIFICANTLY EXCEEDING STATE STANDARDS" on Gap Closing
  • The High School received 5 stars on two separate tests: Algebra 1 and Biology.
  • In Early Literacy, Elida ranked in the Top 3 of almost all categories when compared with districts with similar demographic makeup.

EHS band alumni perform in the University of Cincinnati Marching Band. Read details below. 

Elida High School Band alumni continue to shine! Class of 2020 Elida graduate Jon Frueh and Class of 2023 Elida graduate Chloe Parent are both proud members of the University of Cincinnati Bearcat marching band this year. They are pictured here from this past Saturday as they prepared for the University of Cincinnati v. Oklahoma football game. The uniforms they are wearing are brand new this season. Elida Local Schools Bands and staff are VERY PROUD of these two great musicians and wish them luck and fun as they perform throughout the rest of the football season! #elidapride

Salyers Completes Basic Training

Dalton Salyers ('24) recently completed Army Basic Training at Fort Moore in Georgia.   

Shout out to Elida Senior Dalton Salyers ('24) who just completed Army Basic Training at the US Army Fort Moore in Georgia (formerly Fort Benning). Dalton was in training since mid-June and graduated this past weekend. (Sept. 9-10) Congratulations, Dalton! Dalton is in the Apollo Program. #elidapride

Elida's Shattuck family surprise as father returns from Iraq deployment at daughter's volleyball game! Watch below 

It was a wonderful evening for Elida and for the Shattuck family! One of our very dedicated Elida parents-Elementary PTO President April Shattuck's husband, and father to 3 Elida students, Sgt. Robert Shattuck, made a surprise return during his daughter's volleyball games on Thursday, Aug. 24th. Both teams, Elida and Shawnee, were celebrating military appreciation night when the surprise happened!
